Aging and Disability Resource Centers

The Aging and Disability Resource Center (ADRC) is for Nebraskans 60 years or older, people with disabilities of all ages, family members, caregivers, and advocates. Local ADRCs provide information, referrals,​ and assistance for accessing community services and long-term care options.

Adults with Disabilities

Disabled Persons and Family Support

​​​​​​​​​​​​​​​The Disabled Persons and Family Support (DPFS) program assists persons of all ages who have a medically determinable severe, chronic disability diagnosed by a licensed medical professional. The program is designed to encourage the preservation of the family unit, maintaining independent living situations for the maximum level of independence, and for disabled adults to remain or become employed. Applicants found to be eligible may receive funding for authorized services up to $400 per month

Meals on Wheels

For over 45 years, the Eastern Nebraska Office on Aging’s Meals on Wheels program has filled the nutritional needs of the homebound by providing hot, noon meals, personally delivered by our team of volunteers and paid drivers. Meals are delivered Monday through Friday.

Food Bank of Lincoln

The Nebraska Department of Health and Human Services has identified the Food Bank of Lincoln as the administrator for the federal Commodity Supplemental Food Program (CSFP) in the Lincoln area. CSFP is a program for seniors 60 and over whose income is 130% of the federal poverty line. The program provides free monthly dry food bags designed to cover major food groups: grains, fruits and vegetables, meat and dairy.

Eastern Nebraska Community Action Partnership (ENCAP)

Provides monthly onsite pick-up or delivery of USDA commodities to homebound, income eligible seniors 60+ (monthly incomes of $1,632 or less).

NAMI Nebraska is a statewide, not for profit organization that provides high quality education and support services to effect positive change for those impacted by mental illness.

Department of Health and Human Services-NE

The Division of Children and Family Services includes family preservation, child welfare prevention, child welfare protective services, adult protective services, and youth rehabilitation and treatment centers.

Nebraska Parent Care Network-Omaha

Confidential counseling and mentoring, Referrals to other community agencies and medical resources.

HELP Medical Equiptment Rental

HELP offers you a broad array of gently used durable medical equipment for long-term rental at fraction of the retail cost. 

Easter Seals Nebraska

Easterseals Nebraska provides low-interest loans for the purchase of assistive technology devices and services. 

Methodist Equipment Loan Program

The Methodist Equipment Loan Program provides patients in need with access to free home medical equipment through a recycle-and-reuse program

Assistive Technology Partnership ATP

Allows for short term loan or "try before you buy" on a case by case basis.

Legal Aid of Nebraska

Free legal services for those who qualify. Legal Aid of Nebraska serves people with limited resources. When you apply for services, you will be asked about your household income and assets, citizenship, demographic information, and your legal issue to determine if you qualify for services.
